Stroller Buying Guide
All of us here at Teachers’ School Supply know that when it comes to finding the right stroller for the babies you’re caring for, it has to be built to last. A “home” stroller just won’t hold up to the heavy, frequent use at a day care center. A stroller is one of the most convenient and frequently used items you will ever need. So it’s essential that you find a stroller that will satisfy both you and your babies’ needs. All our commercial-grade strollers are designed to carry 2, 3, 4 or even 6 babies – comfortably and safely. Choose Your Stroller
Step 1: Choose Your Stroller's Age Requirements
Newborns cannot sit up, so they need a stroller that allows them to lie on their backs for the first few months. Good options to look at for a newborn are either a back reclining stroller or any type of stroller that accommodates an infant child seat. Avoid traditional strollers at all costs, since most do not recline. Other traditional strollers do recline but incorporate large leg openings at the base of the seat which can be a risk for strangulation for your infant. Leg openings should always be covered when transporting a newborn in a traditional stroller. Toddlers When it comes to toddlers, choosing a stroller is a lot easier. Safety is still a concern but it is not at the same level as it would be with a newborn. Toddlers have the ability to sit up and can now use balance to their advantage. Transporting two or more children requires that you consider a multi-seat stroller. Choose You Stroller Step 2: Choose Stroller's Weight Capacity
Most newborn strollers are made strictly for six months and under which is usually 25 pounds or less. Some strollers that have higher weight requirements are also compatible with infant car seats so you may use the stroller for the longevity of your child’s youth. It is good to look at all options when choosing a stroller. You should not overlook any detail; after all, this is the way you will get your new bundle of joy around. Toddlers The weight can be a tricky subject when buying a stroller for a toddler. Since toddlers are always growing, you may want to look at strollers with larger weight capacity. Travel systems are a great choice for any parent who wants a stroller that can accommodate all ages. Most travel systems also come equipped with a detachable car seat. After all, you do not want to be buying a new stroller after two months because your son or daughter has had a growth spurt. When picking out the right stroller you must always have the future in the back of your mind to make an adequate decision. Choose You Stroller Step 3: Choose Your Stroller's Material and Durability
Strollers can be made of plastic, aluminum, steel or a combination of materials. Teachers’ School Supply Strollers are made of steel or aluminum to last longer. The lightweight plastic stroller for the home costs less and is easy to move around, but keep in mind they may not last long. Wheels and Brakes All Teachers’ School Supply strollers have brakes that lock the wheels in place, a wheel base that is wide for stability, and wheels that swivel for easy maneuverability. Storage area If you're going on a long outing, you will want storage area for all the stuff that you will be toting around. All our strollers come with a variety of storage accessories.
